"Layer Cakes" are the discovery of 10 x 10 inch squares of fabric.  They usually are made up of 40 of these squares of a variety of prints all from the same line of fabric.  Moda fabrics specializes in producing this option for each of their new lines as they are produced.  Along with this development, there have come pattern designers who have made easy to follow directions for quilts that are GORGEOUS and may be made in quick time from these squares.

What a great discovery for the modern quilter,  and to use with many of the wonderful new large prints of fabric!
